Equipment

The equipment we use is very varied and does change from person to person. bellow is a list of the essential equipment to operate in high level photography. Bellow that is a more detailed list of equipment that will be subject to change depending on your individual circumstances. Equipment is bought outright, you will own your equipment and will be responsible of its upkeep. We are flexible and allow a wide range of equipment to be used, however there will be some equipment that will be compulsory. All the equipment is sourced for you and is purchased in packages from us. The equipment prices vary greatly, some people may have some of the equipment in their possession already, others may need to purchase more.

A few myths that we would like to expel before we start.

MegaPixels: 1gazzillion megapixles does not equal perfect image quality. In fact the more megapixels you have, depending on your sensor, image quality will actually decrease with an increase in pixel count. Compact camera best image quality is achieved at 6million pixels. On an CMOS sensor used in DSLR with a DIGIC or DIGIC II processor 8million pixels. With DIGIC III around 10million pixels. Most cameras used in mast photography are overloaded with pixels.

Height: In mast photography you can always go lower, but never higher than the max height of your mast. 50ft is often enough height, however people that say all photography looks best from 30ft - 40ft are just plain wrong! It depends completely on your subject, we have shot Saisburys stores that have had to be at 100ft and fashion shows that look there best at 10ft.

With that said, these are the essentials:

- Mast

- Canon Camera (We use Canon for compatibility reasons)

- Laptop

- Vehicle
